Synopsis:
This book is based on a boy named charlie writing to someone who charlie feels is some who will listen and try and understand him. From there charlie starts writing him letters based on his life. This books is mostly about charlies first times. First time falling in love, First time doing drugs, first time making true friends, first time dealing with death, etc. and while doing so we can really understand charlies raw emotions and reactions.

Charecters & Plot Line:
Charlie to me feels like a pure innocent child that is unaffected by the corruptness of the world. At least in the begining thats how he reacted to the things he experiences. I know for sure that he is off or at least i hope thats what he is. Charlie to me wasn't very relatable. I don't know about you guys but when i was in ninth grade I never went through what charlie went through. of course all our circumstances are different but i still felt he wasn't ver relatable. Another thing that intrested me was that even though charlies reactions and emotions are so child like and "pure" he was incredibly fast  in diving into the world of drugs and all. This contrast kinda reminded me of  dark and light.

Opinion:
I am not a very big fan of realistic fiction especially those concerning any highschooler doing drugs. After reading Go Ask Alice i was completely put off of that genre. Although, im not completely put off reading realistic highschooler fiction. This is most likely because I read Define Normal which is a lovely book despite being in that genre. Anyways speaking of that this book is oviously something i would typically stray from, But i had to know what all the hype was about and after hearing that emma watson would be playing in the movie i decided to go and read it. and i don't regret it. Although I felt it was slow in the begining I still managed to get sucked into the book. This book however, did not become one of my favorite books like many other book bloggers.  I was expecting so much more that i was just kinda dissapointed.

Anyways, if your into realistic fictions that are about highschoolers growing up i think this is the book for you!
Again this is NOT for you if you dot want to read about sex, drugs, and death etc.
