Looking for Alaska by John Green

Can I just preface this by saying that it was an AMAZING book.

General Info:
221 Pages
$8.99 on Amazon
Mentions sex, drugs, and all around good fun.

Synopsis:
This book is about a boy name charlie who in the begining of the book has a very unintresting life. So in order to find his "great perhaps" he enrolls himself into a boarding school. Away from his parents, home, and nonexistant friends. There he meets a few friends that change his life completely.

Characters & Plot Line:
I gotta say I loved each and every main character. But my favorite guy charecter was Colonel while my favortie girl character was of course Alaska Young. All of the charecters in this book were spunky in ther own way. you really had a clear image of who everyone was. The main protagonist Pudge wasn't my favorite character because Colonel was just such a funny guy. The plot line was even more AMAZING. In the begining I had so many laugh out loud moments, but by the end it made me teary eyed. There were so many funny moment and so many heart touching moments I could help but squeeeel.

Opinion:
I LOVE THIS BOOK. it is an awesome awesome book. not only is it an extremely fun and wonderful read but every word in this book is so meaningful. I usually never ever use a highlighter on my books but I didn't want to forget a qoute so I just got out the highlighter and di my thing. Overall  if you couldnt tell I really recommend this book. After reading this I'll be trying and getting my hands on more of his books.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Thanks for reading!

The Days are Too Short

its ridiculous how short the days seem. having summer school and a crap ton of things to do doesnt make it any better either. im sorry about the lack of reviews but i just have no time to sit down and read. i will probably get to reading lord of the flies and then go on to read the book thief or looking for alaska. anyways, ill write back soon

Classics

So, what do you guys think about classics? I mean I wish I was one of those people that know how to appreciate a classic, but I don't have the patience to really wait for the meaning of the book to hit me. I've always been an instant gratification girl. Which is something I wish I could change. Over the summer I think I'm going to try and get more into classics. So first I'm reading lord of the flies. then, to kill a mockingbird. Honestly, classics make me sleep. Hopefully things will change. Byebye.

IMM Numerroo Uno

Hey guys! I did some more book shopping. :]

Here they are:
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I just did a review on this (Look Below) and I thought it was interesting. this book is basically about a kid named charlie and him growing up.
  • Looking for Alaska by John Green
I'm excited to read this after all the rave for it I've heard. The book is about a boy who is very disatisfied with his life. So, he enrolls himself into a boarding school. There he meets Alaska Young and a whole bunch of other people who change his life. The way the book is written is  intresting because it is set to the "Before" and "After" meeting Alaska.
  • Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Again, another hyped up book. Hope it's worth all of it(fingers crossed). Anyways this is a dystopian novel about a society in which love is a disease called delirium. When the people of this society come to a certain age they get a procedure done to be unable to love. And the story goes on...
  • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
This book is about a girl living in 1939, Nazi Germany. This girl begins to read which leads to her stealing books because of the nazi book burnings. I hear that this book is a total tear jerker so im trying to get myself prepared. :]
  • The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
I am EXTREMELY excited to read this. It's the prequal to the mortal instruments. Cassandra Clare is an awesome author and I am  going to read this as soon as possible. Anyways, this book is about a girl named tessa who goes to england to find her brother. Along the way she gets sucked in to the world of shadowhunters and all. This is set in the victorian era.

As you can see i got some pretty exciting books! im super duper excited to read all of them.

P.S  Are you guys ready for Harry Potter Part 2?? Cause I know I am!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

General Info:
213 Pages
8.40$ at Amazon
Mentions Sex, Drugs, Molestation, Rape, and Being Gay

Synopsis:
This book is based on a boy named charlie writing to someone who charlie feels is some who will listen and try and understand him. From there charlie starts writing him letters based on his life. This books is mostly about charlies first times. First time falling in love, First time doing drugs, first time making true friends, first time dealing with death, etc. and while doing so we can really understand charlies raw emotions and reactions.

Charecters & Plot Line:
Charlie to me feels like a pure innocent child that is unaffected by the corruptness of the world. At least in the begining thats how he reacted to the things he experiences. I know for sure that he is off or at least i hope thats what he is. Charlie to me wasn't very relatable. I don't know about you guys but when i was in ninth grade I never went through what charlie went through. of course all our circumstances are different but i still felt he wasn't ver relatable. Another thing that intrested me was that even though charlies reactions and emotions are so child like and "pure" he was incredibly fast  in diving into the world of drugs and all. This contrast kinda reminded me of  dark and light.

Opinion:
I am not a very big fan of realistic fiction especially those concerning any highschooler doing drugs. After reading Go Ask Alice i was completely put off of that genre. Although, im not completely put off reading realistic highschooler fiction. This is most likely because I read Define Normal which is a lovely book despite being in that genre. Anyways speaking of that this book is oviously something i would typically stray from, But i had to know what all the hype was about and after hearing that emma watson would be playing in the movie i decided to go and read it. and i don't regret it. Although I felt it was slow in the begining I still managed to get sucked into the book. This book however, did not become one of my favorite books like many other book bloggers.  I was expecting so much more that i was just kinda dissapointed.

Anyways, if your into realistic fictions that are about highschoolers growing up i think this is the book for you!
Again this is NOT for you if you dot want to read about sex, drugs, and death etc.

BOOK HAUL

HAHAH is it annoying how i use cap lock so easily?

anyways i got four book i ordered from amazon on friday. whenever i order book i read about a hundred reviews on the book while they're getting shipped to me. do you guys do that? i just get so dangg excited. ahhah even my friends know when i ordered book cause all i say all day long is "IM SO EXCITED FOR MY BOOOKS!" and they goo "we know -___-" woops i mean i think all my fellow booknerds can understand. plus i am not a patient person at all, so that makes it all the more harderr. i mean yepp.

sorry that was a long intro. ANYWAYS i got these three books:
  • What happened to goodbye by Sarah Dessen.
I've already read this and i did thoroughly enjoyed it. this book is basically about a girl named McLean who moves around alot with her father. (her father is a restraunt consaltant and her parents are divorced and she chose to live with her papa) In every town she goes to she creates a new identity for herself. but in the fourth town she moves to because of a slip of the mouth she accidently tells people her real name and has no cohice but to live her true self. but by this time she doesn't know who she really is. But then she meets some friend and a cute guy (DUUHHHHH) and of course everything gets better. anyways it was a very fun read.
  • Divergent by Veronica Roth
I LOVED THIS. man i really did. i'm pretty sure most of you guys know what this is about by now. and like everyone has said it is pretty amazing. plus im mindblown that such a young author can create such an awesome book.
  • City of Fallen Angels
I haven't read this yet. and i dont think i will be for a long time. i mean gathering from what i read on blogs this book is more enjoyable to read if you read clockwork angel beforehand. so im planning to order it read it and then read COFA. plus another huge reason im not reading this yet is that well again according to the people of the internet this ends in a cliffhanger. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i mean i totally get why authors use cliffhangers, but cant they have some empathy for the unpatient readers like me. T.T plus the next book in this series isn't coming untill next year. even clockwork prince is coming out in december. mann i dont know if i can wait that long.  oh well i guess ill have to make doo.

Anyways i gotta stop procrastinating. its 12:22 a.m and i havent even started my homework. sorry mom.<3

Lisztomania - Phoenix

LISTEN NOWW

oh man I love songs that feel so carefree and crazy. I first heard this song at my dentist while listening to pandora (a genius invention by the wayy) and i instantly fell in love. i gotta say i have a soft spot for songs that are not very known and have an indie feeling to it.

Music is something i am postive i would have a hard time living without it. i mean i know i could fully function and be capable of living without it,but every great movie has a great soundtrack and without my music i probably wouldnt be able to control my spazz attacks (which are quite frequent). Anyways do you guys have any music recommendations?

P.S i gotta admit i had to use dictionary.com to check my spelling. gosh i feel like a dumbasss.

Synopsis: Since her parents’ bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother’s new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.
Pages: 402

When i first read the synopsis for this book i was extremely intrigued. First, because I always wished that i could restart my life like McLean does in this book. Second, i am a big fan of Sarah Dessen and her books always excite me.

Anyways i gotta say i love the plot of this book. i always wanted to move away just to make myself over. a new personality, a new look, a new start. Well this is what McLean does in this book and i loved it. In this book McLean tries to follow her normal routine of creating a new self, making friends, and then leaving. However, things don't go the way she wants. she fails to live as a fake version of herself and ends up living as her true self. this of course is a new thing to McLean and feels award to her, But with the help of some new friends and a cute guy(duhh) she learns what it feels like to be yourself.

I really liked Dave. A boy genius turned awkward social turtle. i love the way him and McLean meet and everything about their relationship. Man, I really there was a guy like him out theirr. I also fell in love with McLean. she is one bad ass observer. AHHAHA. i always admire people who are able to observe so well.
Overall I definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of sarah dessen or you just want a fun summer read. (cause it only took me like 4 hours to read.)

Reading Multiople Books in one day.

OMG okay before i start the post ive decided not to care about my grammer. i mean you can still understand me right?

Anyways, do you guys read multiple books in one day? I dont know sometimes i feel like reading alot of books in one day doesnt really allow you to fully sink the story of the book you read into your head. but then again when i finish reading a book i start to feel empty inside (For example the last book of harry potter, the hunger games, etc) and end up picking up another book.

I dont know. i read three book in one day and im not sure if that was a good idea. cause now im mixing up all of the plots together. but what can i do. maybe ill reread them later on.

SO, what do you guys think of reaing multiple book in one day?

P.S. I was balling when I started reading the last chapter of harry potter and the hunger games cause i didnt want them to end. Di d you guys cry too? or maybe im just a crybaby T.T

Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen

Synopsis:
It’s been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents’ divorce—or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live.
A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she’s been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.
In her signature pitch-perfect style, Sarah Dessen explores the hearts of two lonely people learning to connect.

Review: Sarah Dessen has always been one of my favorite authors. Her writing style is very easy to comprehend and usually has a deeper meaning. This book however, took me longer than usual to get pulled in. None the less, after the first few chapters I began to throughly enjoy this book. B+

I really liked the main character of this book auden. I could relate to her because like her I have my moments of being an awkward social turtle. Anyways, at first auden seems like a very independent and smart goody goody kind of girl, but as you read the book you realize that she is like any other typical teenager. Now I have to say, I loved the main boy protagonist Eli. I can't help but like it when the main boy character sort of reserves another side him for the girl.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and recommend you guys pick it up!
